Toronto Blue Jays rookie phenom Trey Yesavage took to social media on Tuesday for his first post of the offseason.
“Beyond blessed… see y’all soon,” Yesavage wrote, while adding a blue heart emoji and sharing a highlight reel of his short time with the team.
Hype videos aren’t all that uncommon for players, typically remixed with a hip-hop, rock, or pop track.

But what made this one interesting is that it appears to feature an original song about the Blue Jays’ youngster, featuring lyrics like “I’m riding up north like a Blue Jay cowboy, World Series heat making big league noise.”
We’re not too sure about the source of the song, though it appears partially inspired by his entrance song, Kid Rock’s “Cowboy.”
Did Yesavage hire someone to record it for him? Did the Blue Jays? Or is it AI?

Whatever the case, it probably won’t be hitting the Billboard charts anytime soon, even if it was a little catchy. It’s also less than a minute long, but we’ll keep our eyes out to see if a full version surfaces somewhere.
What’s next for the Blue Jays and Yesavage?
Yesavage seems to be making the most of the offseason, as he was in his old stomping grounds this past weekend for a visit to East Carolina University’s homecoming weekend.

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, he’s clearly done enough to pencil himself in to one of Toronto’s five starting rotation spots for next season.
