The SF Giants will enter the Winter Meetings next week with plenty of room for improvement on the roster. While it has been reported that the Giants do not plan to spend big on free agents, perhaps they could pursue the trade route.

The Giants clearly need to add to the rotation and there are some big names being floated in trade talks. If the Giants do make a trade, which players are most likely to be included in a deal? Giants general manager Zack Minasian has said there are no untouchables in trade talks, so it seems that everyone is on the table.

3 SF Giants who could be traded at the Winter Meetings

Bryce Eldridge

San Francisco’s shiniest trade piece is without question their top prospect Bryce Eldridge. He debuted briefly with the Giants in 2025 and did not do much at the plate but he still has an incredibly high ceiling at 21 years old with all of the impressive power he has displayed in the minor leagues.

However, with Rafael Devers as an option at first base and as a designated hitter it may create a bit of a squeeze having both Devers and Eldridge in the lineup. They could clear that up and potentially add an ace to their rotation by trading Eldridge.

It would be a tough decision to part with Eldridge, but the Giants may have no other choice if they want to make a major addition to the rotation.

Carson Whisenhunt

The Giants also saw their top pitching prospect debut in 2025 with Carson Whisenhunt. He showed some promise but also had some struggles which may make the Giants question whether he is really a part of their long-term plans in the rotation.

Whisenhunt is not nearly as valuable a trade piece as Eldridge, but maybe the Giants could include the southpaw in a trade that would land them at upgrade at second base or in the outfield which are other needs for the team.

Heliot Ramos

If the Giants are forced to include major league talent in a deal, Heliot Ramos could be a player who gets traded. He was an All-Star in 2024 and had another solid offensive year in 2025 although his defense leaves a lot to be desired.

San Francisco may still want to retain him and see if they can fix him defensively, but if the team can land a starter in a deal that includes Ramos then it could be a wise move.

Anyone is on the table for the Giants going into the Winter Meetings, but these three players seem like they could be dealt.
