Angel Reese teases a potential comeback to basketball while leaving fans guessing about her offseason plans.mt

Angel Reese hinted at a potential return to basketball on November 16, creating excitement among fans as despite excelling in her second WNBA season, the Chicago Sky ace’s plans for the 2026 offseason remain unclear and unconfirmed.

Reese led the league in rebounding for the second consecutive season, averaging 14.7 points, 12.6 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game on her way to another All-Star nod, while helping Chicago – although the team struggled to a 10-34 record under first-year coach Tyler Marsh.

Injuries limited Reese to 30-of-44 games in 2025 as the Sky missed the WNBA playoffs for a second consecutive year. Despite her impressive individual stats, the team’s performance underscored the challenges of competing without a fully healthy roster.

Reese found more success in Unrivaled, a 3-on-3 league, from January to March as she helped Rose BC win the inaugural championship and was named Defensive Player of the Year.

However, she was not listed on the 2026 Unrivaled rosters, leaving her offseason intentions uncertain and at this time, Reese has not officially announced plans to play for another professional basketball team.

She joins a select group of elite players, including Caitlin Clark and A’ja Wilson, in remaining undecided while potential WNBA lockout concerns loom for the offseason.

Her only public comment on the offseason came when she stated her goal was to “Quietly minding my business,” offering minimal insight into what fans might expect from her in the coming months.

The cryptic message left her intentions ambiguous then on Sunday, Reese‘s social media activity added fuel to speculation after a fan expressed how much they missed watching her play.

Reese replied “SOON” with a winking emoji, leaving followers curious and hopeful about a possible return to competitive action as fans reacted immediately.

These glimpses of her workouts suggest she is preparing to return to the court, although no formal announcement has been made.
