Blue Jays superstar infielder Bo Bichette is headed for free agency, and the team can’t afford to lose him. There are bound to be a lot of suitors at play for Bichette, but Jim Bowden of The Athletic recently projected Bichette would sign for $189 million this winter, which would cut down many of the potential landing spots.
Bleacher Report’s Erik Beaston recently predicted Bichette would return to the Blue Jays in free agency this winter, which would be a huge victory for Toronto.
“Bichette played in 136 games in 2025, hitting .311, with 94 RBI and 18 home runs. He accumulated an .840 OPS and in the World Series, he was even better, hitting for .348 and driving in six runs,” Beaston wrote. “His offensive ability is elite and for that reason, he will be a hot commodity. If, that is, Toronto does not lock him up long-term first.”

Bichette should be the No. 1 priority for the Blue Jays, even though some insiders insist that the Blue Jays will go after Kyle Tucker in free agency. If they land Tucker, they won’t be able to sign the other top players on the market.
The Blue Jays should be the favorites in the sweepstakes for Bichette unless something drastically changes over the next few weeks and months.
