According to reports, Craig Albernaz is finalizing a deal to take over as the club’s skipper.

Albernaz is currently the associate manager of the Cleveland Guardians, spending 2025 in that role after serving as the team’s bench coach in 2024. He’s also spent time with the San Francisco Giants and in the Tampa Bay Rays minor league system as a coach.

Albernaz would replace Tony Mansolino, who served as interim manager for most of 2025 after Brandon Hyde’s firing in May.
