Dodgers' Mookie Betts impresses as co-host of MLB Awards show | Yardbarker

  • The Dodgers won a second consecutive World Series despite a down year from Mookie Betts.
  • The eight-time All-Star shared a new video highlighting recent events in his life.
  • He aims for a Dodgers three-peat and continues to earn significant individual honors.

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts just wrapped up his 12th MLB season with another World Series win. The 33-year-old veteran had a down year at the plate by his standards but delivered timely hits and played excellent defense up the middle during the Fall Classic, helping the Dodgers secure their second straight title.

Betts posted a .258 batting average, .326 on-base percentage, .732 OPS, 20 home runs and 82 RBIs across 150 regular-season games. He never fully found his rhythm after suffering an illness that caused significant weight loss just before Opening Day in 2025. The hope is that he will avoid any setbacks in 2026, which will mark his seventh season in Los Angeles.

As Betts enters the offseason, he has continued to make strides in his personal life away from MLB. For the first time in 11 months, Betts announced on Instagram that he is dusting off his YouTube channel and reentering the content creation space with a special video.

Betts’ new video on YouTube, which was his first in nearly a year, included behind-the-scenes footage of the events that have taken place in his life since the Dodgers won the World Series in early November.

“Follow me at Shadow Creek last, All MLB awards, and then the after party in Vegas! YOUTUBE Link in my story/bio,” Betts wrote on Wednesday.

The video features Betts playing at Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas, followed by a behind-the-scenes look at his preparation for the 2025 MLB Awards Show. Betts co-hosted the event with comedian Roy Wood Jr. last Thursday. It was broadcast on MLB Network and included the announcement of the All-MLB First and Second Teams, along with other individual honors.

While Betts continues to enjoy an eventful offseason, his focus will eventually shift back to baseball as he aims to help the Dodgers pursue a three-peat in 2026.

Betts is well on his way to the Hall of Fame, leading all active players with four championships and a long list of individual accolades. He was the 2018 AL MVP during his time with the Boston Red Sox. Over the course of his career, he has earned eight All-Star selections, seven Silver Sluggers, six Gold Gloves and most recently, the Roberto Clemente Award for his community impact.

Whether on the field or off it, Betts continues to set the standard for what it means to be a leader in today’s game.
