The wider Boston Celtics organization just got a bit thinner, with HoopsHype reporter Michael Scotto reporting that the general manager of the Maine Celtics, Jarell Christian, will join the Seattle Storm of the WNBA as an assistant coach for Storm head coach Sonia Raman.
Per Scotto, Christian has been a head coach at the G League level two times so far in his career, as well as serving as an assistant coach at the NBA level for the Washington Wizards. The move will bring his role as GM for Boston’s Portland-based developmental affiliate to an end, a job he has held since 2022, and end his tenure with the team going back to 2021.
During that tenure, he also served in a a combined role as both the Maine Celtics general manager and as a player development coach as a part of the Celtics coaching staff with the parent club.
