It’s been an eventful offseason for Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson, that’s for sure.
For starters, Wilson was named TIME’s Athlete of the Year and The Associated Press Female Athlete of the Year. That seemed like a no-brainer considering she led the Aces to their third championship in the past four seasons. She averaged 23.4 points and 10.2 rebounds per game, earning her fourth MVP award in the process.
During her interview with TIME, Wilson opened up about her relationship with Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo. Not only did she rave about him, she talked about them eventually starting a family.
“That is always a dream,” Wilson told TIME. “This is my life partner. Honestly, what on earth was my world before you? That’s how much he’s impacted my life, my family’s life.”
Former ESPN star Rachel Nichols took that comment and ran with it, making a fairly inappropriate comment about Wilson.
“Because A’ja was named Time magazine’s Athlete of the Year, and she’s doing a bunch of interviews and talking about her and Bam and their relationship,” Nichols said, via the New York Post. “Someone joked that Sam Presti would be at the sonogram if they had kids together. Is he that much of a scout?”
Is A’ja Wilson expecting?
On Monday afternoon, a social media account by the name of “Hoops Crave” reported that Wilson is pregnant.
“A’ja Wilson announces that she is pregnant and that she and Bam Adebayo are expecting twins,” Hoops Crave wrote on X.
This post went viral in just minutes, receiving over 1.4 million views. Some fans congratulated Wilson while others questioned if this is a real source.
Well, let’s shut down all the rumors. For those unaware of Hoops Crave, it’s a parody account that constantly puts out false information.
As of this time, Adebayo and Wilson aren’t expecting children. At least that hasn’t been reported yet by a reputable source.
