Blue Jays Star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Makes Major Decision

Toronto Blue Jays flagship hitter Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (26) will represent the Dominican Republic at the World Baseball Classic.

Hector Gomez, a reporter specializing in Major League Baseball, quoted Albert Pujols, the coach of the Dominican Republic, as saying on the 16th (Korea Standard Time).

Guerrero Jr. was born in Montreal, Canada in 1999. His father, Vladimir Guerrero, was playing for the Montreal Expos at the time.

Guerrero Jr. has since signed with the Toronto Blue Jays, playing for one team. Five-time All-Star, one Gold Glove, two-time Silver Slugger, and last season, he won the Championship Series MVP, leading his team to the World Series.

It currently has a 14-year, $500 million contract until 2039. In fact, the possibility of remaining as the Blue Jays’ “One Clubman” has increased.

The Blue Jays are the only major league team affiliated with Canada and are loved not only by Toronto but also by the whole of Canada.

Born in Canada and playing for Team Canada, he would have been more romantic if he played for Canada in the WBC. But he chose his father’s home country, the Dominican Republic.

The Dominican Republic has been in Group D with Venezuela, the Netherlands, Israel and Nicaragua to be held in March next year. Play at Rondipo Park in Miami, Florida.
