Nika Mühl is making the most of her WNBA offseason, walking the runway at Paris Fashion Week a few days ago.

She was not a part of just any old show, as Mühl strutted the runway in a piece from former UConn women’s basketball teammate Olivia Nelson-Ododa’s fashion line, Kayelise Beauty.

Nelson-Ododa could not be present for her show as she was preparing to play for her team Shanxi Flame in China. But Mühl FaceTimed her to show her how everything had unfolded in Paris.

Nelson-Ododa, who was warming up for a game, got emotional. She posted the reaction to her Instagram story and said,”I’m literally crying. That was so crazy.”

The McDonald’s All-American played for UConn (2018-22) before she was drafted by the Los Angeles Sparks with the 19th overall pick in the 2022 WNBA Draft. She was traded to the Connecticut Sun on Jan. 13, 2023.

Nelson-Ododa launched her brand, Kayelise Beauty, in Sept. 2024. She named the brand after her late grandmother who passed prior to Nelson-Ododa’s birth due to cervical cancer.

Nelson-Ododa’s wellness brand is dedicated to spreading awareness for women’s reproductive health.

The Connecticut Sun forward wore a handcrafted, teal-colored robe called the “Herenia Robe” to introduce the world to the Kayelise brand. Nelson-Ododa wore the robe as one of her pregame tunnel outfits during the WNBA season.

Mühl supported her by wearing her own “Herenia” robe’ as a pregame tunnel outfit within the same week.

Mühl became one of the Huskies’ most prolific point guards (2020-2024). The Croatian now holds the program’s career assist record (686), single season assist record (284, 2022-23), single-game assist record (15), and recorded the most double-digit assist games (17). The Seattle Storm selected Mühl with the No. 14 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft.

The two-time Big East Defensive Player of the Year (2022, 2023) played 16 games as a rookie with the Storm and scored her only two points in the final regular season game.

In October, Mühl tore the ACL and meniscus in her left knee while playing for Turkish basketball club, Besiktas. She had surgery on Nov. 1 to repair the ligament and meniscus, although her status remains unknown.

She was at UConn’s Senior Day in Storrs earlier this month. Mühl was wearing a UConn jersey with No. 5 and posed with her close friend Paige Bueckers after the game.
