Blue Jays extend general manager Mark Shapiro

Rogers announced the five-year contract renewal of Mark Shapiro as President & CEO of the Toronto Blue Jays.

Shapiro joined the Toronto Blue Jays as President & CEO at the end of the 2015 season and is one of few Major League Baseball executives who has experience in all facets of the game – baseball, business, and league operations. In his role, Shapiro oversees Baseball Operations, Business Operations including Rogers Centre’s concerts and events business, and is a representative of the Blue Jays at the league ownership level.

During his tenure, Shapiro has modernized the franchise to deliver for fans in both wins and experiences. This includes five postseason appearances, including reaching the World Series in 2025, leading the revitalization of the fan experience with the extensive renovations to Rogers Centre, and creating an industry-leading training facility in Dunedin, FL.

Shapiro is a member of numerous MLB committees and member of the Board of Directors at Jays Care Foundation.
