 Under the bright lights of Sin City, two Aces have earned their place among the WNBA’s elite at the 2025 All-Star Game. Superstar center A’ja Wilson was named a starting frontcourt player, marking her seventh-career selection last week, while guard Jackie Young earned her fourth All-Star nod as a reserve on Sunday.
Wilson made league history on June 25, becoming the fastest and second-youngest player to reach 5,000 career points, doing so in 238 games. The three-time WNBA MVP is putting together another dominant season, currently leading the league in blocks (2.6 bpg), ranking second in both scoring (21.6 ppg) and rebounds (9.9 rpg), and third in steals (1.9 spg).
The 10 starters were selected regardless of conference affiliation, with fan voting accounting for 50 percent of the total. The remaining votes were split evenly between a panel of media members and current WNBA players, each contributing 25 percent.
As for the reserves, they were selected by the league’s head coaches. This is where Young earned her spot through her performance this season.
Young is averaging 17.3 points per game, the second-highest mark of her career, along with 4.1 rebounds. She also ranks second on the team with 3.7 assists per game. She’s shooting 43.5% from the field, 31.5% from beyond the arc, and a career-best 90.3% from the free-throw line. Young has reached double figures in 14 games, including six outings with 20 or more points. On June 11 against Los Angeles, she matched her career high with 34 points on 12-of-24 shooting. During that same stretch, she also strung together 39 consecutive made free throws from June 11-29.
“I’m excited for Jackie,” Vegas head coach Becky Hammon said. “She’s earned it. When we win, we got to celebrate. So if it’s individual, collectively, we’re gonna celebrate those wins. So I’m super happy for her. You know, she’s such an integral part of what we do on both ends of the floor.”
Indiana’s Caitlin Clark and Minnesota’s Napheesa Collier, serving as team captains, will draft their respective rosters live on ESPN on Tuesday.
The 2025 WNBA All-Star Game will take place on Saturday, July 19, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
