💥 BREAKING NEWS: Marine Johannès shifts her focus to the WNBA, raising a pressing question: Will it still be compatible with the French national team? ⚡mt

French National Team – Marine Johannès plans to focus on the WNBA in the coming summers. Will this prevent her from playing for the French national team every year?

Marine Johannès veut mettre l’accent sur la WNBA : « Est-ce que ça va être compatible avec l’équipe de France ? »

Marine Johannes (1.78 m, 29 years old) has opted out of the 2024 WNBA season to focus on her Olympic goal. Turning 30 next year, the Normandy native admitted her uncertainty about her future with the French national team after the Olympic final loss to Team USA (66-67).

Marine Johannes had her first WNBA experience with the New York Liberty in 2019. Returning to the big league in 2022, she established herself (10 points on 46.4% shooting, 1.7 rebounds, and 3.4 assists in 25 minutes) before contributing to the Liberty’s run to the playoff final in 2023. This final WNBA season also led to her being excluded from EuroBasket 2023 by a federation decision. It remains to be seen whether the next coaching staff for the French women’s national team will agree to adapt to her WNBA schedule.
