There’s a new queen of WNBA fashion. Nika MĂĽhl, the 23-year-old from Zagreb, Croatia, has claimed the title of WNBA’s Most Stylish Player. In June, we declared that the Seattle Storm’s second-round pick was the most stylish rookie in the league, and now, competing in a tournament held on the GQ Sports Instagram account, she’s earned the title of most stylish player, period.
Mühl had to defeat some heavy hitters on her way to the top, including tunnel fit extraordinaire Kelsey Plum and Olympic legend Gabby Williams. Mühl knocked them out in our Elite 8 and Final 4, respectively, to set up a winner-take-all battle with fellow rookie Cameron Brink. And Mühl emerged victorious over the weekend. And if you needed further confirmation that this was a banner season for the W, this was our most viewed, engaged, and voted on Most Stylish tournament ever, including our long-running NBA and NFL editions.
During her debut season, Mühl showed off a little bit of everything, fit-wise. There were tasteful power suits, big, flowy skirts, hats of various styles and materials, and even a basketball jersey, jean shorts, and high heel look that she pulled off with casual aplomb. With every one, though, Mühl finished things off with a killer pair of sunglasses, giving every entrance an extra scoop of cool.

The very first impressions she made in the WNBA were quite fashionable, too. On her draft night, the UConn Husky showed off a grill that paid homage to her hometown. The ZG is for Zagreb, as she told us from the orange carpet.

Her first game also came with a memorable fit. MĂĽhl’s career was slightly delayed by visa issues, but once those were taken care of, she waltzed through Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena in a t-shirt featuring a mockup of her visa with a giant “APPROVED” stamp.

With her unparalleled blend of style, creativity, and whimsy, it’s no surprise that MĂĽhl brought home this honor in her first year as a WNBA player. Last year’s winner, Satou Sabally, showed her support for MĂĽhl on the Instagram post announcing her win, leaving a comment that simply read, “lemme pass that torch” and a flame emoji. And while MĂĽhl didn’t receive the playing time that many members of her draft class did, she made a major impact in the fashion space. Here’s to even bigger fits when she returns stateside for the 2025 season.
