The Los Angeles Angels have signed Alek Manoah to a major league contract.
On Tuesday it was reported that the Halos signed former Toronto Blue Jays right-handed pitcher Alek Manoah to a one-year major league contract.
ESPN baseball insider Jeff Passan reports that the deal is worth $1.95MM.
The Angels have agreed to a one-year contract with RHP Alek Manoah.
It’s been a whirlwind couple of months for Manoah, who was the Blue Jays’ opening day starter in 2023.
After recovering from off-season elbow surgery, Manoah returned to action in 2025 and posted a 2.97 ERA in seven games with Triple-A Buffalo. Despite that, he was designated for assignment.
Manoah’s signing is a low-risk deal for the Angels, who are hoping that the right-hander can return to his 2022 form, when he went 16-7 with a 2.24 ERA and was selected to his first All-Star game.
Manoah represents a low-risk, high-reward signing for the Angels. His stock has never been lower, but if he is able to regain his form then he will have been a steal at $1.95MM

While Manoah has dealt with injuries and inconsistencies over the past couple of seasons, he appeared to have turned a corner in his rehab.If he can prove he is healthy he will have a good shot at competing for a job in the Angels rotation come Spring Training.
But he will have to earn it.
