🚨 JUST IN: Stunning Projection Links Bo Bichette to a Rival Team in a Massive Contract That Could Haunt the Blue Jays ⚡. tn

Bo Bichette just opened the door for the Mariners to do something wild

The Toronto Blue Jays could see Bo Bichette walk in free agency in a lucrative deal.

Bichette is one of the top free agents available, but he has remained linked to the Blue Jays as he’s spent his entire career in Toronto. However, with Toronto linked to Kyle Tucker and Alex Bregman, the Blue Jays may not have the money to bring back Bichette.

With that, MLB analyst James Schiano of The Windup predicts Bichette will depart the Blue Jays for their new rival in the Los Angeles Dodgers.

“I have him going to the Dodgers,” Schiano said. “I think after the Blue Jays sign Tucker, they might tighten up a little bit, and Bo might feel that his team just did an upgrade, and they are not giving him a deal he wants. So, maybe he’s more willing at that point to take a deal with the Dodgers. The Dodgers’ right now, their second base situation is horrific.

“Bo Bichette announcing he’ll be a second baseman opens up his market a lot more. It’s also an indication that he wasn’t getting the long, mega deal that he expected. This comes with a four-year deal, really high AAV, with some opt-outs. All the teams that could sign a deal like that could be the Dodgers.”

Bichette leaving the Blue Jays for the Dodgers would be a stunning move, and many Toronto fans would be disappointed. The Dodgers have become the Blue Jays’ new rival, so seeing Bichette depart for them would be a tough blow.

Bichette is a two-time MLB All-Star.

Bichette Open to Move to Second Base

With Bichette still unsigned, the star hitter is open to a position change.

Bichette has been a shortstop his entire career, but he played second base in the World Series and handled the position well. Now, MLB insider Mark Feinsand reported that Bichette’s camp has told teams he’s willing to move to second base.

“According to sources, the two-time All-Star has let potential suitors know that he is ready, willing and able to move to second base, the position he played for the first time in his big-league career during this year’s World Series,” Feinsand wrote.

The move likely indicates teams didn’t view him as a shortstop long-term. It also could help his market, one MLB source told Feinsand.

“It seems like the message has gotten through to him that teams don’t view him as a shortstop in the long-term – or maybe even in 2026,” one source said. “His willingness to change positions can only help him in the market.”

Bichette has struggled defensively as he posted a -13 Outs Above Average last season, tying him with J.P. Crawford for last place among all shortstops.

Blue Jays Remain in Bichette’s Market

Reflecting on Blue Jays Shortstop Bo Bichette's Brilliant Season

Bichette has spent his entire career in Toronto. After the World Series loss, Bichette said he’d like to return to the Blue Jays.

Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins said entering the offseason that the team will remain in Bichette’s market.

“Great player,” Atkins said of Bichette after the World Series. “Bo’s been a significant part of us being in a strong position today and a reason that we’re coming off five solid seasons of baseball and one really, really good year of baseball. He’s had a lot to do with it. I know he’s going to be attractive to the market. We’ll be in his market.”

Bichette has led the AL in hits twice, and his bat is one of the best in the majors.
