
The best players of the FIBA ​​Women’s EuroLeague were recognized at a special ceremony held in Mersin.
Fenerbahçe’s Belgian player Emma Meesseman was named MVP for the second consecutive year.
The awards were determined by votes from EuroLeague coaches, team captains, media, and fans. Three-time EuroLeague Women’s champion Sonja Vasic was honored with the Sporting Legacy Award at the ceremony, where Fenerbahçe’s Meesseman was named MVP again this year, following her previous year’s victory.

Speaking at the ceremony, Meesseman said, “Winning the MVP award is always special, but people who know me know it’s not my goal.” Referring to tomorrow’s match against Villeneuve, the Belgian player said, “We know Villeneuve and we know it will be a tough, but most importantly, a beautiful match.” Meesseman received her MVP jacket from her mother, Sonja Tankrey, who surprised her in the city.
Two Fenerbahçe stars were named in the first five of the season.
The first five of the season included Kayla McBride and Emma Meesseeman from Fenerbahçe, Marina Mabrey from ÇBK Mersin, Leonie Fiebich from Casademont Zaragoza, and Ezi Macbegor from USK Praha.
The second team of the season consisted of Kennedy Burke and Janelle Salaun from Villeneuve, Valeriane Ayayi from USK Praha, Yvonne Anderson from Fenerbahçe, and Elizabeth Williams from Mersin ÇBK.
At the ceremony, where the championship trophy was also presented, the Club Excellence Award was presented to Casademont Zaragoza of Spain. Rachid Meziane, Head Coach of Villeneuve d’Ascq LM of France, was awarded the Head Coach of the Year award. The Best Defensive Player of the Year award went to Yvonne Anderson of Fenerbahçe, while the Best Young Player of the Year award went to Sika Kone of Spain’s Perfumerias Avenida.
Messages from some of the awardees who were unable to attend the ceremony were delivered via video call in the hall.
