A’ja Wilson sent a heartfelt message to her fans after winning her third WNBA MVP award on Sunday. Wilson was voted unanimously after having one of the best seasons in league history. She also helped theĀ Las Vegas AcesĀ take a 1-0 lead over the Seattle Storm in their first round playoff matchup the same day.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Wilson was full of gratitude to the people who supported her career. She praised the Aces fanbase that always has her back.

“Thank you everyone that reached out!! All the post, text messages, DMs etc doesn’t go unnoticed! šŸ«¶šŸ½šŸ„¹ I’m so blessed to have such a top tier fan base! So thank yall šŸ¤,” Wilson tweeted.

A’ja Wilson became the second player inĀ WNBAĀ history to win the MVP award unanimously. Wilson received all 67 first-place votes to win her third MVP award in five years. She’s coming off a season wherein she averaged 26.9 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.8 steals and 2.6 blocks per game.

Napheesa Collier of the Minnesota Lynx came in second, while 2023 WNBA MVP Breanna Stewart had the third-most votes.Ā Caitlin Clark, who won the Rookie of the Year award, was fourth and Alyssa Thomas of the Connecticut Sun rounds out the Top 5.

Wilson led the league in points per game and blocks per game. Her 26.9 PPG broke Diana Taurasi’s record for the highest-scoring average in a single WNBA season. She also became the first player to score 1,000 points in a season.

However, the Aces only managed to finish the regular season as the fourth seed. They struggled to get wins early in the season with Chelsea Gray recovering from an injury.

The Las Vegas Aces overcame a slow start in Game 1 to get the 78-67 win over theĀ Seattle StormĀ on Sunday. The Aces are now up 1-0 in the first-round series and have the opportunity to finish the Storm off on Tuesday at the Michelob ULTRA Arena.

If the Aces win, they advance to the semifinals and face the winner of the New York Liberty-Atlanta Dream series. If they lose, Game 3 will be in Seattle and could be a tough environment to pull off a victory.

A’ja Wilson finished the game with 21 points, eight rebounds and five blocks, while Tiffany Hayes came up big off the bench with 20 points. Chelsea Gray provided 16 points and seven assists, and Jackie Young added 12 points and seven boards.
