After Vanloo defended the European title with the Belgian Cats last Sunday, she rushed back to the United States, only to discover that the Golden State Valkyries no longer needed her. The club had already been very unhappy about Vanloo leaving the Valkyries to play in the European Championship.

Last year, Vanloo made her WNBA debut for the Washington Mystics. She has played 49 games so far in the WNBA, averaging 6.8 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 4.3 assists. She has represented Galatasaray in Europe for the past two seasons.
The Sparks are currently in sixth and second-to-last place in the Western Conference with five wins and twelve losses, two spots behind the Valkyries (nine wins, seven losses).
