Breanna Stewart and the USA women’s basketball team are on a 58-game winning streak. They will look to continue their successful run as they face Nigeria in a quarterfinal matchup on Wednesday, August 7. Stewart’s family is in Paris to support her, including her wife, Marta Xargay, as indicated by Xargay’s Instagram post featuring her and their children at the Olympic Village.

The post itself featured four slides comprising three pictures and one video. In the first picture, Xargay is standing beside Team Spain women’s basketball players, her former colleagues. The second slide features a video of Breanna Stewart and Xargay’s child, Ruby, shooting basketball in an arcade game.
The next two pictures show Serbian basketball player Sonja Vasic feeding a banana to Stewart and Xargay’s youngest child, Theo, and a shot of Ruby walking in a courtyard with a ball near her feet.
Xargay was a professional basketball player herself, having played for the Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA. She represented Spain in women’s basketball at the 2016 Rio Olympics and won a silver medal. She is also a two-time Spanish League champion and three-time Spanish Cup champion. Xargay retired from professional basketball in 2021.

Breanna Stewart’s family accompanied her to the 2024Â Paris Olympics, and Marta Xargay posted a mini-vlog of their first few days in the City of Light. The vlog starts with Stewart holding their son Theo in her arms while Marta wishes everyone good morning. In response, Stewart and Ruby wish Marta back with an excited:
“Bonjour!”
The scene then cuts to Lille, where Stewart and her family arrive for the first game of the Paris Olympics. The New York Liberty star volunteers to be the tour guide for her wife to show her around the city. They go shopping and end their day by returning home to their kids. The final scene of the mini-vlog features Stewart getting ready for her first game against Japan.
The two-time WNBA champion has been excellent for her team in the Olympics. She was averaging 19.3 points, 9.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists for the Liberty before the international break and has carried over her great form to the international stage.
