New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu’s house was burglarized Monday night in Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Officers responded to the home at approximately 8:15 p.m. for a burglary investigation, after two suspects smashed through a rear glass door to enter the residence, police said Tuesday. Several handbags worth more than $60,000 were stolen from the home, according to ESPN.

Ionescu and her husband, Hroniss Grasu, a former NFL offensive lineman, were not present at the time of the break-in. The police investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
Public records show that Ionescu and Grasu purchased the home in December 2024 for $4.4 million. The residence is in the Mar Vista neighborhood on the Westside of L.A.

The WNBA star is the latest high-profile athlete to have her home burglarized. On Sunday night, Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons’ home was broken into while he was in California to face the San Francisco 49ers.
Drafted first overall by the Liberty in 2020, Ionescu is a four-time All-Star and four-time All-WNBA performer. She won the WNBA Finals with New York in 2024.

Ionescu was a two-time Wooden Award winner in college at Oregon and made the Pac-12 All-Conference Team four times. She was also the 2016 MaxPreps National Player of the Year at Miramonte High School in Orinda, Calif.
Grasu was drafted in the third round by the Chicago Bears in 2015 and finished his career with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2023. He was a two-time All-American at Oregon.
