Lynne Roberts shares the Sparks’ three priorities after the team announced that it had hired two new members to join the coaching staff, bringing championship experience to Los Angeles

Lynne Roberts shared a message about what the Los Angeles Sparks are looking for moving forward.
On Wednesday, the Sparks announced that Roberts’ coaching staff for the 2026 season had been finalized, with Zach O’Brien and Ebony Hoffman set to be part of Los Angeles’ staff. Zak Buncik returns to the Sparks for his second season.
The news comes after the Sparks showed renders of their new practice facility, set to open by the 2027 season. In a statement, Roberts expressed her excitement to bringing Hoffman, O’Brien to Los Angeles while also outlining three priorities for the Sparks next season.

“This coaching staff represents the identity we want to build as an organization—competitive, connected, and committed to developing players at the highest level,” Roberts said. “Ebony and Zach bring complementary strengths, shared values, and a deep understanding of today’s WNBA.
“Together with our returning staff, they form a unified group that is prepared, innovative, and aligned around building a culture our players can thrive in. I’m incredibly excited for the direction we’re heading and the standard this staff will set for the 2026 season.”
O’Brien was a member of Sandy Brondello’s championship-winning coaching staff on the New York Liberty. Originally joining the Liberty in 2022, O’Brien stood out with his attention to detail and his ability to help players hone in on their strengths make him one of the more respected young minds in the WNBA.
