The thirteen-year veteran point guard Courtney Vandersloot, born on February 8, 1989, in Kent, Washington, is a professional basketball player for the New York Liberty in the WNBA. Her basketball career began at Kentwood High School, where she led her team by averaging 26 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds, and 5 steals per game in her senior year. Under her leadership, the team secured a third-place finish in the state tournament which was the best finish of that school. Following her high school success, Vandersloot joined the Gonzaga Bulldogs women’s basketball team in 2007. During her college career, she received significant achievements, including being named the WCC Player of the Year three times and earning the WCC Tournament MVP title on three occasions.

In the 2011 WNBA draft, Vandersloot was selected 3rd overall by the Chicago Sky. Throughout her WNBA career, she has established herself as one of the league’s premier playmakers and efficient shooters, leading the league in assists seven times and earning five All-Star selections. As a point guard for the New York Liberty, she is averaging 7.0 points, 5.0 assists, and 2.8 rebounds per game.

Jan and William Vandersloot are Courtney Vendersloot’s parents. Her mother’s name is Janet Vandersloot, and she was born on October 25, 1956, in Missoula, MT. She died in June 2024 at the age of 67 of cancer, as per NY Post. Both William and Jan Vandersloot worked for Boeing.
