💥 BREAKING NEWS: Dana Evans is traded to the Aces in a stunning roster shake-up that could shift the balance of power in the West ⚡.mt

Dana Evans is on the move, as Annie Costabile of the Chicago Sun-Times reports that the Chicago Sky has traded Evans to the Las Vegas Aces for two second-round picks.

Evans, a member of the 2021 championship team in Chicago, has spent the better part of the last four years with the Sky after being drafted by the Dallas Wings in the second round in 2021. She broke out in 2023 for the Sky, finishing third in the WNBA Sixth Person of the Year voting while averaging 21.5 minutes off the bench and nine points per game.

Evans entered the 2024 season as the starting point guard for the first 12 games of the season but saw her minutes and usage fluctuate the rest of the season as Chennedy Carter’s resurgence led to then-head coach Teresa Weatherspoon anointing her as the starting guard.

Her future was in doubt in Chicago last year, but they held on to her after the trade deadline, leading to some alleged tensions between the team and Evans’ representatives.

With Courtney Vandersloot returning to Chicago, the Sky moved Evans to the Las Vegas Aces, who have had a full roster shakeup this offseason, losing Tiffany Hayes, Alysha Clark, Sydney Colson, and Kate Martin in free agency and the expansion draft.

Evans joins Cheyenne Parker-Tyus as a new face in Vegas, as the Aces look to build depth to go with their starting core of Chelsea Gray, Jackie Young, Jewell Loyd, and A’ja Wilson.

Evans has shown what she can do when she’s given a large role, and Vegas have had consecutive Sixth Player of the Year Award winners in Hayes and Clark. For Evans, she couldn’t ask for a better scenario to recapture her 2023 magic.
