Another standout from women’s basketball was added to Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry‘s reported list of factors for ending his partnership his long-time partner brand, Under Armour.

On Wednesday, @soleretriever on Instagram reported that a key reason as to why Curry decided to walk away from his tenured deal was because the brand refused to sign UConn Huskies senior Azzi Fudd.

This comes after initial reports surfaced that other factors that led to Curry’s decision was when Under Armour also missed out signing Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark and New York Liberty sensation Sabrina Ionescu.

Curry, who will now focus on growing his own personal brand, made headlines when he parted ways with Under Armour after a partnership that lasted for over a decade.

“BREAKING: Under Armour not signing Azzi Fudd among key reasons why Steph Curry walked away 🚨🚨🚨 Despite years of assumptions, Azzi Fudd was never under contract with Curry Brand or Under Armour. ✍️ Sole Retriever learned from multiple sources that a major point of contention for @stephencurry30 — even more important than the Caitlin Clark situation — was Under Armour’s failure to sign @azzi35. 🏀 LINK IN BIO FOR THE FULL STORY AND UNDER ARMOUR’s COMMENT ✅✅ #stephcurry #azzifudd #underarmour,” @soleretriever on Instagram captioned with several emojis.

Curry is currently in his 17th year in the league, all of which has been spent with the Warriors. The four-time NBA champion has logged in 16 appearances so far in the 2025-26 season, helping Golden State to a current record of 11-12.

In Fudd’s case, she is rounding out her five-year college basketball tenure with the Huskies this season, looking to win her second straight and final NCAA championship.

Azzi Fudd Was Recently A Part Of Stephen Curry’s Under Armour Camp in China

Perhaps the ties of Stephen Curry and Azzi Fudd go even deeper. In August, the two-time NBA MVP held a camp in Chongqing, China, with Under Amour that saw Fudd join as a guest. As seen on Fudd’s post on her Instagram page, she taught basketball aspirants drills, scrimmages and even took part inconversations.
