Alaska’s Alissa Pili, who starred in the state as a high school player at Dimond High, was waived by the WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx on Saturday.
Pili, who played collegiately at USC and the University of Utah, was drafted with the eighth pick in the first round by the Lynx in the 2024 draft.
Pili had played sparingly in her second season in the league. She logged just five total minutes in the team’s seven games so far in July.

On the season, Pili averaged 1.9 points on 45.5% shooting and 1.2 rebounds in 5.5 minutes per game.
For her career, Pili averaged 2.2 points per game over 36 games.
