It’s been over 600 days since former UConn women’s basketball star Kia Nurse played in a regular season WNBA game.
After tearing her ACL during the 2021 WNBA playoffs, Nurse will make her return to the court this summer for the Seattle Storm.

All the long days and months of rehabbing have finally paid off. The former Husky is ready to make her return and become a key piece for a franchise that’s looking to reload while also feeling like home for the Canadian

“The love of basketball here is something that I’ve noticed right away,” Nurse said during Seattle’s Media Day on Wednesday. “… You can tell there’s a genuine love for women’s basketball here.”

About 30 seconds into Game 4 of the 2021 semifinal series between Las Vegas and Phoenix, Nurse collected a long pass from Diana Taurasi inside the key. She went up for the shot but was blocked by Vegas’ A’ja Wilson.
