Stephen Curry made a statement before even stepping onto the court Sunday night. Ahead of the Golden State Warriors’ matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers, Curry was spotted courtside wearing A’ja Wilson’s Nike A’One “Sunshine” signature shoes, drawing immediate attention from fans.

Stephen Curry Shows Love to A’ja Wilson and the WNBA
The Warriors On NBCS X handle shared a video of Curry sitting courtside in the bright yellow A’One “Sunshine” colorway, Wilson’s first signature Nike basketball shoe.
The Nike A’One “Sunshine” was released in August 2025 and quickly became one of the most talked-about signature launches in the WNBA. As of the 2025 season, only five active WNBA players have true signature basketball shoes, making Wilson’s deal a major milestone for the league.
Curry wearing the shoe carried extra meaning. The Warriors star has one of the most successful signature shoe lines in basketball history through his Curry Brand partnership with Under Armour, which has produced more than a dozen models since 2015.
The moment also highlighted the growing crossover support between NBA and WNBA stars. Curry and Wilson have crossed paths before, appearing together in Chase’s 2025 “Cashback Like a Pro” advertising campaign alongside Kevin Hart.

Curry Returns as Warriors Look for Momentum
The shoe moment came as Curry continues his return from injury. He suffered a left quad contusion and muscle strain during the Warriors’ loss to the Houston Rockets on Nov. 26, 2025, causing him to miss five games .
Curry returned to action on Dec. 12 against the Minnesota Timberwolves and immediately reminded everyone of his impact, pouring in 39 points. Despite his big night, Golden State still came up short after winning two straight games prior.
The Warriors entered Sunday’s game with a 13-13 record, sitting eighth in the standings. The Trailblazers, meanwhile, came in at 9-16 and 12th, having won the previous two meetings between the teams.

The Warriors planned to start Stephen Curry, Moses Moody, Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green, and Quinten Post against the Trail Blazers.
As of this writing, the two teams are locked in a tight battle, tied at 61-61. Curry and the Warriors are looking to break the deadlock in the second half and snap their brief losing streak against a Portland team that has played them tough all season.

The footwear may have stolen the spotlight, but Curry’s return carried far greater significance. The Golden State Warriors have struggled to find consistency without him, and his return offers renewed hope. In one night, Curry managed to champion a fellow superstar, elevate women’s basketball, and remind everyone that his impact transcends numbers.
