The two-time champ will remain with the two-time champs! Kiah Stokes will re-sign with the Las Vegas Aces, as reported by ESPN’s Alexa Philippou, on a two-year deal.
Stokes, 30, is entering her ninth year in the WNBA. She was drafted in 2015 by the New York Liberty out of the University of Connecticut. She played her first six seasons with New York before being waived and joining the Las Vegas Aces in 2021. Stokes has been with Las Vegas for the last three seasons, acting as a key member of the Aces bench last season on their way to becoming the first W franchise to win back-to-back titles since the Los Angeles Sparks did it back in 2001 and 2002. Specifically, Stokes was a big relief for the Aces after Candace Parker went down for the entire 2023 season with a foot injury, stepping in to start in her absence.
In 40 games played in 2023, Stokes averaged 2.2 points per game (PPG) on 43.4 percent shooting but just 2.1 attempts per game (APG). Her rebounding and defense stood out the most on Las Vegas’ second unit last season, averaging 5.9 total rebounds per game (RPG) along with one block per game (BPG). For her career, Stokes has averaged 4.0 PPG, 1.1 BPG, and 5.8 RPG. Stokes is the type of adaptable big that several teams should be looking for to bolster their rosters.,xPosition=.5,yPosition=.5)
