💥 BREAKING NEWS: Blue Jays Star Poised to Walk Away as AL Rival Emerges With a Massive 8-Year, $208M Power Play ⚡. tn

The Toronto Blue Jays made a big move for Dylan Cease to kick off their offseason. Now, it seems like they’re chasing a monumental deal with Kyle Tucker in free agency.

As a result, there’s a good chance Bo Bichette signs with a different team this winter. Bichette is likely headed for a huge deal, and the Blue Jays might not have the money to sign him if they land all the other stars they want.

Ryan Finkelstein of Just Baseball predicted on Tuesday that the Blue Jays would lose Bo Bichette to the Detroit Tigers on a massive eight-year, $208 million deal.

“Now, picking a new team for Bichette was tough, but I thought a fun landing spot would be the Detroit Tigers,” Finkelstein wrote. “Last year, the Tigers made a big push for Bregman. Maybe Bichette is the infielder they can lock up long-term instead. The Tigers currently feature the top prospect in all of baseball, shortstop Kevin McGonigle. There is every chance McGonigle is ready for Opening Day, which could make things a bit complicated if Bichette is unwilling to move off shortstop.”

The Tigers desperately need to add an infielder. They’ve been one of the top suitors for Alex Bregman over the last two years, but adding Bichette makes more sense.

Bregman is likely looking for a deal almost as large as this Bichette projection. Bichette is much younger and holds a bit brighter of a future than Bregman, so it would make a lot more sense for the Tigers to take a risk on Bichette than on Bregman. It would be a very expensive move to make, but the Tigers would certainly get better in the short term and long term if they can land Bichette.
